Team Kitzighofen

I mentioned on Monday that I must need a haircut but Flash got there first. Today he had his spring clip and on past form will need another one in the summer.

He has always had an incredible amount of fur, both the outer hairs and a very thick inner woolly coat. Increasingly with age, he seems to suffer in summer and so for the last few years, he has undergone this somewhat undignified process. He seems to have got very used to it and actually appeared to be very proud when he returned from Memmingen.

Friend Stephanie had done another great job, not easy for her as Flash has great difficulty in standing up and keeping still for any length of time.

Here he is with his mate of the last 14.5 years, Cindy, having an afternoon nap in the shade. Both were born at the same farm in the village Grosskitzighofen where we lived until moving here. They were both born in 2003, Cindy in spring, Flash in August.

Flash is adored by all five cats and they will all go up to him and rub themselves on his legs. Cindy likes to lick his face and often gets a lick back too.

Feeling a bit guilty about the weather when I hear reports from UK Blipers and messages from the family. I was banned from mentioning it on Monday until my daughter had bought up all the stock in Lidl Ireland - it was Bavarian week there and now the freezer is packed with Spaetzle and bratwurst to keep them tied over until they come here. She had WhatsApp'd her brother in Worthing to warn him as often Lidl UK and Ireland have the same offers in the same week but he sadly reported it hadn't happened in the UK. Just a few weeks ago he mentioned he was down to his last packet of spaetzle.

PS I am posting this at 7:00amon Thursday 12th and see the Alpen Offers at Lidl start in the UK today, so have sent off an emergency WhatsApp.
