Old Cattle Ring

The last remaining building of the old Lanark market. The stone octagonal sales ring is at last being restored.

The louvred cupola crowning the roof housed a bell, to call farmers to the start of a sale, is topped by a weathervane.

Internally, a circular ring with wood railings, cast iron standards and ball finials make this a truly historic building.

The question is can the conversion to a restaurant be achieved while preserving the history?
