Yalı on the Bosphorus

Kuruçeşme Yalı (Ottoman wooden, sea front summer houses of the C17-C19) as seen on a late afternoon local walkabout along the Bosphorus before joining friends for drinks and pizza at a bar in Arnavutkoy. The Bosphorus waterfront is littered with these magnificent buildings of a bygone age and although this short terrace could do with some TLC, there is no disguising their grandeur - so easy to envisage their original splendour.

This Facebook page on Ottoman Yali here  includes an image of the waterfront Yali on the Asian side of the Bosphorus that was recently rammed by a tanker - more info here. Oops.
