Cherry Blossoms Street Festival

I was on duty today to photograph that annual event -- one of my favorite of all the festivals in D.C.  Given the amazing summer-like weather and a concurrent parade, the festival drew 50,000+ people in a six-block stretch (see extra for a partial view).

I love the many facets of Japan that are featured during that festival: traditional arts and culture, J-pop, martial arts, culinary tastings (including Japanese beer and sake), and of course, a number of Cosplay characters as well.  A packed day!

I suspect I got overheated during the six hours on my feet and in the sun, so tonite: feet up and a movie! :)
