A Decadent Poke

We went to the Foundry for a farewell steak Friday brunch, to friends who are relocating back to the UK after many years working abroad. These two items were my favourite parts.

The left one is a Poke bowl. Poke means “to slice or cut” in Hawaiian and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish — usually tuna — which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and umami-packed sauces - kind of like deconstructed sushi.

The right is a Magnum type ice cream, dipped into more chocolate of your choice (white, milk, or dark), covered with sprinkles (I chose dark chocolate), finished with a sauce (I chose rasberry).
