Genny

This is one of two generators supplying our electricity while UK Power Networks continue to fix the problem which cut the power last week; the other is about half a mile away on foot but substantially further by car as the lane in that direction is shut just now. At some time last night some scallies stole the big copper cables which run from this unit, behind the hedge on the right, and connect to the overhead power lines. Thus no power again this morning. No cup of tea, no shower, nothing until the power was restored at about 10:30. At the extreme left of this shot is a chap coming towards me to ask why I'm taking photographs. He's one of the security guards employed by UK Power Networks from this morning to watch the generators, and their attendant cables, until such time as they can be removed and we are back on the full-fat draught electricity. There is someone at each generator because they are too far apart for someone to move quickly between them.

It's all kicking off out here in the country.
