Inflation or just getting old..?

When I was a nipper my mother sent me to a corner shop to buy a loaf of bread. It cost a shilling and she was mortified it had gone up a penny and I had no change to hand back.

The other day I went to my local shop and found their loaves had increased by 5p. In old money that is a shilling!

It is dawning on me that, with a loaf of bread costing 22 times it did than when I was a kid, I'm getting old...
