A slice of Lesley's life

Vicarious activity

Yesterday somehow resulted in zero photos for the first time in a very long time. Partly because I kept forgetting to take my phone places.

Anyway, yesterday was a blur of efficiency, not least for Jackson who has his first real* exams coming up in a couple of weeks and so gave himself a pretty full on revision schedule. Anna had less to do but still managed an impressive sprint to the finish of all the holiday homework she has been ignoring. I even managed a swim. And then Carl and I headed to our local to meet our friend Mark and his partner, Pat. They’re getting married in September and we hadn’t met him yet. A very fun evening that did technically lead into today...

...so the morning was a little slow to get started and there was a proper recovery breakfast eaten under a blanket on the sofa with the last episode of Queer Eye. That and a dog walk, lunch and a cheeky little nap had me back to human.

Meanwhile England netball team were being considerably more active with a very impressive Gold in the Commonwealth Games. Didn’t inspire me and Anna to go out and play today but we did yesterday.

Afternoon and evening of lamb dinner and games and catching up on Britain’s Got Talent and finishing the fabulous Matt Haig book.

Kind of looking forward to some structure and the new term starting tomorrow. Not least as the boy is in very good shape for it. I’m keeping everything crossed this half-term will see his first full week.

*They don’t count for anything but they will be in the Hall in proper exam conditions and he hasn’t done anything like them before.
