Second

This time last year I was up to six butterfly species, today's Peacock is just my second for this year (discounting yesterday's unconfirmed sighting from a train) and also the first I've seen in my home patch. Last year's first Peacock was March 24th; this one was basking on one of the shingle paths in the community garden. The week ahead promises warmth and sunshine though, so I'm sure we'll see some more activity soon.
