Master Planners

It was pretty funny to emerge from the bedroom this morning to find OilMan and my brother cutting out little colored pieces of construction paper (representing furniture--I'm sure they're color coded to something) and arranging them by room on graph paper ruled with exact measurements. They accomplished a lot, but the visuals were pretty funny.

We went to a (new) neighborhood brunch given by the two guys who live across the street. Turns out I have a connection to one of the guests through an old friend of mine. She and her husband live in Oakland and have a weekend place up the street. I heard about her for years but never met her until today. Small world #357.

We're now back in Berkeley, preparing for an invasion of home inspectors, movers, and painters, and OilMan is in his office cursing under his breath because some underwriter has asked for yet another piece of paper just as OilMan thought he had everything he needed. The fun just never stops....
