Between fen and mountains

Arboretum

The village has a mature arboretum of several hundred species going back over a hundred years.  A new tree is planted for each birth in the village.  Other than a walk up to the belvedere via the park and the church to look for Mrs TT's lost glasses, I spent a lot of the day reviewing a previous contract between the church and the Commune and pointing out a clause that prevents the sale to the church.  I also had to meet with the deputy Maire, Jean François, to sort out the contract for the ownership and use of the proposed ring of bells in Saint Georges.  We did get sidetracked into reviewing possibilities for his sporting holiday in the outer Hebrides which C. and I are helping him with.
