Hamms Hall Distribution Centre

A day of travelling seemingly designed to promote disconnectedness – a 3am start, a weird car-parking facility on the outskirts of Birmingham, transit buses, a horrendous queue for U.S. Customs Pre-Clearance in Dublin, airplane food, Brian Eno, an in-flight movie about an evil clown - and then suddenly we were in New York. We took a Yellow Cab to our Hotel – a converted factory in the ‘edgy’ Brooklyn neighbourhood of Greenpoint – and checked in, took a Subway to Times Square, walked down to the Rockefeller Centre for coffee, took a Subway back from Grand Central Station and ordered in a massive pizza…
