The little crooked house

This is my little crooked house, perched on the corner of two roads. Yes, that is a roadway and not our drive. It is in fact Rue du Centre and there is a battered old sign to prove it. The house faces onto Rue Principale. It all sounds very important, doesn't it?

The house is a unfinished project and I believe that it shows here. The first task to complete will be the re-rendering and painting. That should smarten things up a bit. We found the shutters yesterday. Can't wait to choose a paint colour and get them ready for hanging.

Today we walked Nell around the Chemin and we stood for ages listening to the peculiar cacaphony issuing from the pond. French frogs. Froggy frogs. What strange noises these frogs were making, I have never heard anything like it.

The process of settling in, putting stuff away and learning how things work continues. The big thing for today was transferring the purchase funds. We got a good rate and the house is costing a little less than we had expected. We may well spend the saved money on a case or two fizz with which to celebrate.
