Boston Marathon, underwater

Boston Strong!

My heart goes out to the marathon runners who are experiencing the worst possible spring conditions, cold temperatures, a headwind and torrential rain.

It's been 5 years since the horrible bombing that involved members of our family. Today we stand together for the anniversary of that terrifying day, when by a miracle, our family watching at the Finish Line, escaped the worst, but emerged not totally unscathed. Many others were not as lucky. The wounds for all, terribly visible and invisible, persist.

Extra, T's sister, niece and nephew and two great nieces miraculously running from the scene. This photo was on flickr, taken apparently from a window above the scene.  They had been standing under the Norwegian flag, beside Krystle Campbell who perished from her injuries at the scene. We would have been there as well, but T had a business trip to NYC, so I watched from home...in horror.

For the Record,
This day came in cold with steady, often torrential rain.

All hands hoping for a safe day for the runners.
