Adder!

Had a lovely long sleep last night; getting into full holiday relaxation :)  Once we were up and about though, we set off for Dartmoor and went for a beautiful, tor-bagging walk (actually, we only racked up three, as the route was interrupted by a Private sign and a field full of cows).  The views were gorgeous, but my photo of the day has to be of this adder which Tim spotted as we headed back downhill.  I walked past it without even noticing, and Tim only narrowly avoided stepping on its head, spotting it just in time.  The photo makes it look bigger than it really was - it was only about 10" in its squiggled up form - quite cute really (although it did make me jump and squeal a bit when it suddenly set off after I took this photo).

Got back to the cottage late afternoon, and went out later on for some dinner at the other pub in the village - the Church House Inn.  Tasty and filling!
