Snake's head Fritillaria

Some friends visited yesterday and we went to a local garden centre for lunch. Needless to say we had a good wander around afterwards and I couldn't resist this snake's head fritillaria. I assume it gets it's name because of the colouring of the petals rather than any resemblance to a snake head. I believe another name for it was the Leper Lily as the flower head resembled the shape of the bell lepers used to carry.
I had to take it into the greenhouse to photograph it as it's extremely windy outside today. It is now happily planted in the border and may well feature in a future blip on a calmer day.
