Hibernating or Dead?

This is a 16-Spot Orange Ladybird, Halyzia 16-guttata (aka Halyzia sedecimguttata).

This one was totally immobile so was either still in hibernation mode, or deceased.

It was where you would expect to find it - on the bark of a sycamore tree.

I understand they are becoming more common in England but I am led to believe they are still scarce here in Scotland (Fife).

[EDIT - One Week Later]
Revisited on the 24th. No sign of it.
It has either fallen off its perch, been predated, or crawled away.
