Newhall

After my brisk walk in Newhall Valley yesterday I decided to revisit the Stately house on the same parcel of land today. Newhall, it is said to be, one of the oldest inhabited moated houses in England dating back the the 13th Century. The main core of the building is a little more recent, dating back to the 16th Century and was owned at that time by the Gibbons family (relatives of Bishop Vesey). Many famous families have lived here, in recent times it was Sir Alfred Owens residence.
In 1988 the building was converted into a 4 star hotel and spa.
