Against the odds

this small potted hibiscus which one of my granddaughters gave me has flowered again (it's really too cold in the winter to survive here) I nearly threw the dead looking twig away in spring but as the weather warmed up it gradually showed some signs of life and just in the last few days a flower has finally opened.
