How can a plant be evil?

Skunk Cabbage is getting it in the neck recently for being an invasive species. It isn't of course. It was just happily minding its own business in North America when we yanked it out of the ground and carried it round the world. Because it is "pretty". Pretty smelly! Anyway, what's a plant supposed to do, other than survive? This clump has been growing happily in my garden pond well away from any other watercourses for 25 years. It's a survivor.
