The fool on the hill

Gimme Dat Ding

We have rescued a grandfather clock (William Hickman of Stamford - probably about as old as our house, which ties in nicely)) from my mum's garage that was inherited from my great aunt Alice. The pendulum hanger had snapped but a 10 thou feeler gauge and a couple of pins from a junior hacksaw blade made a good stand-in. I was woken on the hour every hour by the bloody thing last night. Hoping that a bit of leather on the hammer and glued across the bell will reduce the the clang to a soporific and gentle chime. Otherwise it is going to be annoying.
