Surprise Show

Today I gave a tour for an 8th grade art class at the Cameron Art Museum.  It was a normal one hour tour of the three exhibits currently on view... with a surprise.  The kids had been part of a grant that brought art instructors to their school.  One of their activities was a photo class where all the kids got to either photograph one of their classmates or a selfie.  What they didn't know was that the museum printed the images, framed them and hung them in a special exhibit in the conference room.  Afterward the regular tour, their teacher was asked if they had time for one more small exhibit.  They were surprised and of course happy to see their work on display.  Refreshments accompanied the special reception.  Here are two of the students viewing their pictures, one a selfie and the other a portrait by another student.
