1955 Letter

I had never seen this old letter from my half-sister to my mother before, though I had heard about it. It was kept in mum's bedside drawer, a treasured item that had travelled with mum through many homes: St Annes-on-sea, Gibraltar, Towyn, Blacon, Chester, Singapore, Winchester, West Kirby, Pak Sha O, Cornwall, Ruthin and Connah's Quay.  With so many house moves, my parents were expert at packing and kept very few mementoes, so this letter was a rare exception.
