Superstition

I am unafraid of black cats and I walk under ladders as brazen as you like. But a few years ago, after I'd done her a small favour, a Japanese student gave me this little embroidered cloth bag 'to protect my household'. Adding that if anyone opened it, the protective virtues would fly off. I have never opened the bag, and never will.
