The First View

For over a week we had noticed that the weather forecast in the lakes was really good today. Left Liverpool on the 6.58 to Wigan and after a couple of seamless changes we were in Windermere to begin walking by 9 am. But, the weather had changed. For the worst. It was thick mist and fog all the way over Ill Bell and up to High Street. Just as we began our ascent up the steep face of Stony Cove Pike we saw what we had been missing. Then down to the Kirkstone Pass Inn for a well deserved pint after a 12 mile walk.
