Ratina

A new shopping centre called Ratina was opened yesterday in Tampere. It is huge, there are more than 100 shops and services. The timing of the openings is great. Finland has recovered slowly of the financial crisis of 2008, and the growth rate has also been exceptionally slow. Finland has had rapid economic growth in 2017. Private consumption will continue growing on the back of the improved employment situation and consumers’ enhanced purchasing power. Continued negative real interest rates and strong consumer confidence will encourage households to consume.

Let's see how much purchasing power there is in Tampere, what stores will succeed and where.

I visited Ratina shopping centre after work, the place was full of people. I bought Seppo Jokinen's new detective story Lyödyn laki and got author's signature on the title page!

It was lovely warm day, but let's not get used to it -  it will be much colder in next days...

+17°C, sunny, cloudy evening
