A bridge runs over it

It's always rather an oxymoron to see battered old vehicles driving on new Chinese-financed roads. Many areas have very little traffic and I've never come across such a high proportion of the vehicles that are encountered out of action on the side of the road; someone tinkering under the belly of a lorry, passengers standing helplessly but expectantly in the shade.

One beaten up yellow taxi driving one inch off the ground, suspension absolutely screaming, carried the slogan, 'money sweet in your mouth'. The mind gets carried away doesn't it.

This river marks the boundary between Lofa and Bong Counties. A big bridge that spans it is a good place to contemplate Liberia's awesome nature. Because Monrovia is such a wet city, I always assume that Liberia as a country is wet all over. It's logic that doesn't really stack up, but it's good to see rivers rumbling along nicely.
