Bard's Birthday

Today was the annual celebration of William Shakespeare's birthday in Stratford.   I was there with my madrigal group Musyck Anon who were singing outside the birthplace.

Traditionally a sprig of Rosemary is worn which refers to the gift that Ophelia gave to her brother Laertes and father Polonius in Hamlet.   I am not sure what is the significance of the black and yellow ribbons.

The rain left off until after lunch but our second set was a bit wet when there was a shower.  We still had a good crowd
