Blossom day

Today at Dancersend Nature Reserve I was suddenly aware that blossom had opened overnight. The main photograph is of the first few flowers to open on an old wild-type pear tree in the orchard. The extra is from one of the wild cherry trees that are starting to show as intensifying white blotches when scanning the woods from the hill to the north. Needless to say, there was considerable interest in both from lots of bees.
