If you can't beat them...

Smoo Cave.

Moving on!  Our aim today was to make our way slowly across the north coast almost to Durness.

Stopping as and when we saw something which caught our interest. One thing we had completely forgotten was Dounreay!   As we approached we could see a large white dome and we made all sorts of guesses as to what it was.  Then we turned a corner and could see it was the "fast breeder reactor" at the nuclear station.

As a complete opposite we spent some time at a lovely sandy, sunlit, beach on the north coast west of Loch Eriboll.  (Near Sangobeg).  The we came to Smoo Cave.  It was a long walk down many steps but the cave was impressive.  I might have been tempted to go on the underground tour but for the notice which said "Tours suspended I have been called out to rescue a couple of sheep stuck on a cliff".

Our site for the night was on the shores of Loch Eribol.  Clickychick and I  had a walk down to the shore, the owner of the site told us Otter and Red Deer had been see on the shore.  So after our evening meal we went down and spent a quiet hopeful hour.  Unfortunately our luck wasn't in
and when a another group from the site wandered along we decided to call it a night.
