Wound up in Wexford

Fungus in Manapouri

Back blipped on 22nd April

After a slow start, we drove to Te Anau to get advice on visiting Milford Sound.  We had noticed on arriving in Mossburn the previous evening signs advising that the road to Milford was closing at 1630, and we were concerned about whether it would be open, and whether it would stay open.  The assistant in the i-site was very reassuring, said that though they had had snow the previous evening, the road was now cleared, and more snow was not expected.  We had a wander around Te Anau, did some shopping, then drove down to Manapouri.  Here we had a walk along the banks of the lake.  Lovely native forest (see extra), great fungus, including the blipped selection on and around one stump.
