The Bare ( Bear) Necessities

Today these were shade and water and both are here.
The Bear Fountain  not yet turned on is absolutely beautiful .
Originally the work of Hugo Lederer  born in Znaim later a German Sculptor  it was destroyed in WW2.  In 1958, pre the Berlin wall it was reworked by Walter Sutkowski born in Danzig and later resident of Berlin. Financed from the cultural funds of Berlin . Mother Bear sits under this tree on an octagonal base watching four sets of cubs playing..A beautiful work symbolic for  Berlin .
