A Rough Diamond

Our neighbour who got upset about the sheep on our Land, today turned up and, first, showed Mike how to prune our olive trees with a chain saw, and then, went home to fetch a strimmer and cut the long growth all over our garden. Can't tell you how encouraging this was. I now feel I could make a start out there. We offered to pay at least for the petrol, but he'd have none of it. This is a man who works hard every day there is and hardly has time to look after his own land.

All interspersed with loud rants on various subjects, half of which we didn't really understand, but one of which was telling us off for petting Lula, because what we need is a dog who bites anyone who comes on the Land, and to do that, we need to treat him mean... ummm!
