Busy Saturday

It turned out to be a very busy day. A footie game for Leo in Cully, a footie game for the Grecians in Exeter, then an earlier than expected dash to Poole

The Gas engineer visited first thing as yet again we had no hot water - this was the third visit in as many weeks! We lost the heating as well - but at least it is so hot we needn’t worry.

So after the two new parts fitted on the previous visits failed to do the trick we are hoping we will be third time lucky. Something is wrong with the circuit board in the boiler apparently so a new one will be fitted on Monday!

We were hoping it would all be fixed on Saturday, especially as Ian, Leo and I had a surprise birthday party to attend in Poole on Sunday and were not looking forward to cold showers in order to make ourselves presentable. We decided we couldn’t face that!

So a quick rearrangement of plans meant that we booked ourselves into a hotel in Poole overnight on Saturday and travelled up then instead and enjoyed the luxury of a hot shower :)

And what a journey it was! We drove through I don’t know how many thunder and lightening storms, and torrential downpours. The first spots began as we headed out and it jus5 followed us all the way to Poole - and then stopped as soon as we arrived and it was back to sunshine again

It was a good footie result for Leo, an 11-2 win against Hemyock. Not such a good result for Exeter, as they drew 2-2 with Crawley. That leaves them in 4th spot with 2 games to go and the top three get automatic promotion to League 1. It is all getting rather fraught!
