Where the Light Gets In

Storytelling

impersonating
a peasant or a bishop
in stories of yore

Flavien Dedryver was born in the North of France, just like me. Ten years ago (he was then around 40... rings a bell), he and his wife sold their restaurant (called an "estaminet") and came to live in Central Brittany. They also own a café/bar/grocery store/etc. here. They called it the "Ch'ty coz", a play on words involving their "ch'ti" origins (the patois in the North of France - except on the coast - is called ch'timi, and the people have become the ch'tis by extension) and the Breton words "ty coz" which mean "the old house".

Flavien also has a show in which he tells stories of his youth. It's very good because everybody can find something to remember about their childhood in it, although it was not spent in the same place, nor at the same time. He is accompanied by a local guitarist star, Soig Sibéril (extra).

I went with Julie's Dad who's known Soig for forty odd years. Before that, the three of us enjoyed a meal of langoustines, spider crab and sole fillets. :-) And cake. :-))
