“Louring” clouds.

My late mother would call this type of sky “louring”. As far as I know, the only other person ever to use the word was Shakespeare.

“Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by this son of York. And all the clouds that loured upon our house in the deep bosom of the ocean buried”. (Richard II, I think).
