From Now On...

Israel & Palestine trip day 3

We began our day at the Mount of Olives, just east of Jerusalem and within walking distance. Lots of walking today, but so very worth it. This mount is at 818m above sea level and is nearly 80m higher than the Temple Mount and gives an incredible view of Jerusalem surrounded by mountains.

From here, Jesus would have looked out over the Kidron Valley at Jerusalem towards the temple. and began his last journey from here to the Garden of Gethsemane where he was arrested. Then from there to his trial and crucifixion and burial, and then resurrection. The wonderful foundation and truth of the Christian faith.

My extra tries to show other aspects of the day; walking through the narrow, vibrant alleyways in Jerusalem, a great lunch where some of us sat in the majlis of the restaurant and some of the amazing sights today. Impossible to convey really!
