On the Beach

A trip to Lossiemouth in the rain.
The constant roar of jets taking off and landing nearby, reverberating in our ears.
The steady dripping of rain from hoods and umbrellas making pock marks in the sand.
A wet desertion of humans from the streets.
The harbour with waves crashing on and over the breakwater, but with a little cafe, perched at the end, windows steamed up with the breath of people who lunch.

A further trip along to coast to Hopeman with its pebbly beach ,rock pools and a row of gaily painted beach huts, firmly shut up for winter.
The rain stopped for the moment, an army of dog walkers took advantage of a stroll along the dunes.

A quick visit to Burghead, with the sun making a veiled appearance, casting a beam of sunlight over the water, before more clouds came scurrying in and we made for home. The afternoons are drawing in fast in this part of the country.
