The Trossachs in Autumn

Brig o'Turk is a very small hamlet in the Trossachs, and we started our club walk there today.  We walked from there past The Byre, and on past Black Water to Loch Drunkie, and from there over to Loch Venachar.  The weather was dry but dull in the morning, but we finished our walk in the rain.  The autumn colours were wonderful though, and as they will soon be gone it was nice to see them.

Update:  Some of you showed concern about my niece on the Outer Banks, sitting out Hurrican Sandy.  We have had no word yet from her, mobiles are out, and lines are used for emergencies only, but I did see online that several houses in Rodanthe have collapsed.  Hopefully not hers.  Just have to wait and see.  The Highway 12 is awash and the emergency services have still to assess the damage, also the bridge connecting Hatteras with the mainland has to be assessed as to its safety, so ferries are the only way onto the Outer Banks at the moment, if they can operate.

Further update:  Have just heard from my sister that my niece and partner are ok, they have been through worse storms and their house is ok.  So pleased!  Thanks for all your thoughts, it was so kind of you all to be concerned.  Have also just heard from our friends in NJ and they are fine and with little damage.
