Lacemakers

I planted these pak choi cabbages a short while before the accident with my glasses. During the time when my glasses were bent, or dispensed with altogether, I got behind in squashing white butterfly eggs and caterpillars. This is the result- lacy leaves. The plants bolted and I didn’t get anything to eat from them myself.

About 400 metres from my garden is a huge brassica crop for winter feed. It breeds thousands of white butterflies, many of which come to feed on the nectar of my flowers, and then lay their eggs on my cabbages.
