Although now the weekend there is stuff (for once) to be done; opposite me at the moment is a haphazard pile consisting of plastic stackyboxes, cardboard boxes, shoe-boxes containing things other than shoes, a plastic toolbox-thing containing Nicky's haberdashering devices, a BENNO CD tower-shelf thing, a couple of the blue bags from the shop the BENNO CD tower came from, a couple of sleeping bags, a sort of candelabrum thing for tea-lights, a large pile of books and (perched on the top where it's probably quite at risk from falling) Nicky's radio. In the morning this and the associated sub-piles around the room, the chest of drawers and the entire contents of the large and easily-forgettable volume underneath the bed must all be moved through to the other room, arranged in such a way as to be compact, safe and unobtrusive so that (in the new-formed space) the bed can be rested on its side and the three-quarters of the room which remains unfloored after the original flooring was uprooted when we had the heating replaced can get flooring laid on it. Hopefully the exposed edge of the last strip has survived intact enough to not have to be replaced. Hopefully there's enough flooring remaining in the unknown number of packets wrapped in a dusty dust sheet beneath the bed to cover the remaining space and hopefully the various fiddly bits won't be too fiddly though this is unikely considering that our flat's constructors evidently thought that flat floors somehow indicated weakness of character and that right angles were for squares.

Hmmm. Just watching last week's Jonathan Ross on the internet-telly. Isn't Lee Evans annoying?
