Kayaking

The last back blip from our holiday.
Packed up the muddy tent (fortunately could lie it on the dry road to fold it) and set off for Derwentwater and the Kettlewell carpark.
It was busy but we managed to fnd a space to unload the kayaks and get them down to the lake. Picnic packed and we were away to the head of the lake - hard work against wind and current and takling pics was tricky due to choppiness and drifting. We landed on the other side and had a picnic (and Mr Rat and camera fell in but no harm done to either).
Then roundd a sheltered bay before going back across with a detour up the river Derwent and close encounters with Canada geese (couldn't keep the kayak in one place long enough to get and pics).
As you can see, it was a lovely day and we were able to get things dried out in Mum's garden when we arrived for the next few days of our holiday.
