spires rising

So Hillsborough on a dry Sunday. A view over the lake to the Church of Ireland Parish church's spire.
In times past, the heart of a village was the church and the school. Now both are under threat for different reasons. Dropping pupil numbers and rationalisation mean less small, rural schools and more travel. Dropping attendance at many places of worship mean old church buildings are falling into disrepair and congregations are dwindling. Faith and the desire to learn, however, remain undiminished,
Maybe it is a time to rethink both.. how we do education and how we share fellowship. Education and faith without walls! More anon.
