Anniversary Eve Treat

As we continue to be dog-free (missing the little pup a bit now though, to be honest) we checked into a very nice little hotel / restaurant-with-rooms called the Black Swan at Oldstead, not far from Thirsk, just for the one night. We're spinning out our wedding anniversary celebrations all week. Well, why not?

The stay included a tasting menu meal of seven courses accompanied by five different wines, and was amazingly good. In the room, as part of the package, was a half-bottle of champagne. It wasn't Krug though, despite the branding on the ice bucket...
