If you can't beat them...

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.

We arrived in good time for the 10:40 ferry, only to be told it was full and as we hadn't booked we couldn't get on also there were two other hopefuls in front of us.  Problem! We had been told by Calmac when booking the other crossings booking wasn't needed for this one.  Off went Clickychick to the office and then to talk to the various men directing the traffic.  Things didn't seem hopeful! We were placed in one of the queues thinking we would have to wait until the afternoon (3 something) sailing.  Cars began to load and there suddenly was a man punching our tickets and putting on board.  CC must have done a good job chatting them up!

We took the van to Kilchoan to be handy for the crossing to Mull.  I have never been on a site run by an "Honesty Box" system before.  We got a nice pitch over looking the sea a few yards from the shore.  Then we were off to the most westerly point on the mainland of Great Britain.  The lighthouse at Ardnamurchan point, a place I haven't visited for about 60 years.

On arriving it seemed we had missed Dolphins by half an hour.  We spent the warm sunny afternoon sea watching and taking photographs of the lighthouse, before heading back to the site, where we sat in the sun with a"wee dram".  Looking up at the sound of a helicopter we realised there was a Sea Eagle soaring overhead.  So we ended the day watching the Otters playing in the bay!  Red Deer tick,Sea Eagle tick and Otters tick.  A very good wildlife day.
