Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Quality concrete!

At the end of WW2 some of our local beach defences were blown up. (They must have run out of explosives pretty quickly as most of them are still in situ!) This is a lump of shattered 1940s concrete. Having been covered in sand for much of the last 70 odd years it is in pristine, if broken, condition without a sign of lichen growth.

The extra is the local painter and decorator's van; it never fails to make me smile!
