Welcome to Halloween ! This is the skeleton of GRISTHORPE MAN - so watch out for him tonight !

GM was discovered in a large ground tumulus in 1834, by William Beswick. He was inside a hollowed out oak trunk coffin and alongside his grave goods.

Heis simply the best preserved example of Bronze Age activity in Britain, with a burial date between 2200 BC and 1900 BC.
Impressive - as is the diet !
