Spoilt for choice

I was washing the dishes when I looked up and instead of the usual Woodpigeon it was a Sparrowhawk sitting on the bird bath. Maybe she had eaten half a pigeon because she drank a lot of water.

This gave me the chance to take more photos of a Sparrowhawk in 5 minutes than I had managed in a lifetime. The first 22 shots were through window glass and frankly disappointing so I deserted my post and went up stairs and luckily found a bedroom window already open - Result!

The best thing was the bird returned in the evening so @darkpeakbirder got to see it after being out birdwatching at lunchtime :-)
