Under the ginkgo

This is an old Polaroid photo from the 70’s of two friends. They are Benedictine nuns.
Here they are sitting under a tudor ginkgo biloba tree.
I am visiting this Abbey at the weekend to see the lady on the left now in her late 80’s.
She was the guest mistress and nurse for the community, a wonderful woman with a great sense of humour.Sadly she is not well now.
I like this photo as it captured the essence of the contemplative life, growing produce to share and putting the spiritual first.it was harvest time, and still very warm.
