Two or three .... !

A dull, breezy start to the day but wearing enough layers to keep out the chill L and I played 9 holes of golf and then enjoyed coffee, a scone and a spot of reading in the sports pavilion.

We went to the Botanic Gardens in St Andrews this afternoon .... weather much improved so one jacket was left in the boot.

I was walking round the pond when I spotted a female mallard with her little family of three crossing from the reeds to an earthy area where there were a number of huge gunnera stumps. 

Mum quickly climbed up to the top of the stump leaving her wee ducklings in the water. Just watching them struggling to get to mum was totally absorbing. After much tumbling and somersaulting they made it to the safety of mum's wings
